A sustainable stationery experience from corner to curbside
Opportunity
Approximately 100 billion cardboard boxes are produced in the US alone every year (new.abb.com). Many of those boxes show up on our doorsteps via Amazon and although a lot of that cardboard gets recycled, why not use it for more than one purpose? I realized I could cut down that cardboard and make thoughtful cards for loved ones and send them off in the mail. I wanted to share the experience of creating something neat and making someone else smile.
Solution
if I was to encourage people to use stationery again, my concept couldn’t be stationary, or stale, for that matter. I bought a lime green retired postal Jeep from 1971, had the talented Channin Fulton design and paint on the logo, and never looked back.
‘From’ became the concept, the name, and the driving force behind everything I created for the company:
From here to there: Going from place to place to setup for curious and creative souls to craft.
From me to you: The thoughtfulness of making something for someone and taking the time to send it in the mail.
From this to that: A goal of ensuring every material and product used was at least 95% recycled or reclaimed.
Pick. Make. Send.
The experience was simple; Pick a blank card, make using the handmade wooden stamps, and send your creation right from the Jeep’s mailbox. Postage was included with the cost of the card to create.
From coffee shops to conferences, Christmas parties to Creative Mornings
Wherever there was a crowd, that’s where we wanted to be. Events, holidays, and anydays were perfect for getting creative. We loved collaborating with Balboa Park, High Tech High, Culture Brewing, Parakeet Cafe, Cultura, Creative Mornings San Diego, and other incredible organizations.
